Andrew Coy – @andrewcoy

Andrew is an educator, tech integration specialist, mentor, and entrepreneur. He began teaching at Digital Harbor High School after moving to Baltimore in 2009 with Teach For America. Although he started as a Social Studies teacher, he quickly found himself co-founding an after school club devoted to web development, teaching other teachers about technology, and fixing computers around the building. Andrew now teaches technology full time in addition to sitting on the Tech Advisory Board, the School and Family Council, the DHHS Alliance, and working with the tech community at large. He has been featured on the front cover of the Baltimore Sun and on the air at WYPR’s Maryland Morning with Sheliah Kast.

In 2011 he co-founded the Baltimore EdTech Forum, and later that year, in November he lead the winning team at 1st ever Education Hack Day in Baltimore.

Andrew is passionate about educational equality and is dedicated to reinventing education to empower students to take their place the 21st century digital workplace.

Sean Carton – @sugarcartoon

Sean Carton is the Founder and Director of the Center for Digital Communication, Commerce, and Culture at the University of Baltimore. He created the Center with the mission to develop the next generation of designers, writers, leaders, scholars, and creators of communications, commerce, and culture for the connected digital age. The Center’s activities concentrate on three areas: 1) Facilitating teaching, learning and dialogue about the impact of digital technology on communications, commerce, and culture; 2) Catalyzing community engagement, synergy, and economic development by developing connections between innovators, artists, entrepreneurs, leaders, and thinkers within the Greater Baltimore region; and 3) Developing original scholarship, curricula, intellectual property, and innovations that enhance living, learning, working, and playing in our connected digital age.

Sean is also the chief creative officer at idfive in Baltimore. He was formerly the dean of Philadelphia University’s School of Design + Media and chief experience officer at Carton Donofrio Partners, Inc.

Kate Bladow – @kbladow

Kate Bladow, Founder & Strategist at Powered Pursuits, helps nonprofits and social changemakers understand, implement, and evaluate technologies that help them meet their missions. Previously, Kate worked for Pro Bono Net, where she helped legal aid programs and courts develop LawHelp Interactive document assembly projects, and for Montana Legal Services Association, where she helped to launch MontanaLawHelp.org, a legal information website for the public, and MontanaProBono.net, a website that supports legal aid and pro bono lawyers. She is a member of the Wide Angle Youth Media Board.

Kate grew up in Mayville, North Dakota and graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. She now lives in Baltimore, where she coordinates the Tech and Social Change Baltimore meetings, blogs about technology innovations, and misses snow.
